Did your kitchen recently go through a renovation and you feel like you are still missing something? Take a look at your kitchen faucet. Maybe it is time to replace it. Here at SOUFLO, we are here to make sure you know how to choose the perfect professional kitchen faucet. Our kitchen faucets for sale are the best in the United States.
Have you looked at your sink recently? There are many different kitchen faucet and sink designs available, but they are not always compatible. It is time to determine how many faucet mounting holes are available. This applies if you are installing a new faucet in an existing sink or if a new kitchen sink is also joining the new faucet.
If your existing faucet has a mounting plate on it, check under the sink to see how many holes the mounting plate covers. Each new faucet will indicate on the packaging how many mounting holes it needs for installation. Kitchen faucets are available in 1, 2, 3, and 4 hole versions. Some faucets give you multiple options in one to accommodate different sink configurations. If the faucet you buy will only use two holes and your sink has three, you’ll have to figure out what to do about that third opening.
The location of the sink mounting holes is another thing to keep in mind. Often, the faucet is located close to the center of the sink, but this is not always the case. If the faucet will be mounted on one side of the sink, the spout needs to be long enough to reach the opposite basin for it to be of use. A tall spout with a pull-down spray nozzle is another option for a sink with corner mounting holes.
Parts of a Professional Kitchen Faucet To Know
All faucets have some form of connections or inlets to draw water from your facility’s plumbing. There are several common options:
- Centers – Faucets with centers are used when you want the freedom to mix hot and cold water as desired. The inlets are built into the faucet base, and the length is determined by measuring the distance from the center of one inlet to the center of the other. This number must match the spacing of your building’s water lines (adjustable centers will help with the spacing). If mounting through the backsplash on a sink, the center measurement must also fit within the pre-drilled mounting holes.
- Single Inlet – Faucets with a single inlet water connection are primarily for installations where a mixing valve is used to pre-mix the hot and cold water to the desired temperature before it enters the faucet.
- Flexible Connectors – These are hoses, typically made from braided stainless steel, which allow you more flexibility to connect a faucet to the water lines. They can also be used to connect a mixing valve to the water lines and are commonly used on hand sink faucets.
